An active freelance performer and teacher, Annie Moon has been acknowledged for her “fire in the belly approach” as well as her “fabulously romantic and big-hearted playing.”

She has been awarded both the International Horn Society’s Barry Tuckwell Award & Paul Mansur Award. In her time as Graduate Teaching Associate for horn at The Ohio State University, she was selected to perform Richard Strauss’ Horn Concerto No. 1 with The Ohio State University Symphony Orchestra.

Her primary teachers include Jonas Thoms and Bruce Henniss. She has performed in numerous festival masterclasses, including those of Frøydis Ree Wekre and Christoph Eß. Other masterclass performances have included those with Elizabeth Freimuth, Peter Kurau, Weston Sprott, Leonhard Paul, Michelle Stebleton, and Leelanlee Sterrett.

Fulfilling invitations to perform with summer institutions such as Festival Napa Valley and The National Music Festival Orchestra, Moon has performed in a variety of Exciting settings and provided masterclasses for hornists alike. Wether touring Japan as Principal Horn of the Ohio State Wind Symphony, Performing as Principal Horn of regional orchestras, to the solo hornist of a jazz combo, genre cannot limit her love for the horn and musicianship.
